Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 2.74 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 320. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to right, holding spear in his right hand and Victory on globe in his left. Rev. ROMAE A-ETERNAE / P - R / R T Roma seated right, inscribing with her right hand shield set on her left knee with X/V in two lines; at her side, shield. RIC -. Of the highest rarity, apparently only the third known example. Light deposits and with a minor flan crack, otherwise, very fine.

This extremely rare coin is one of the most striking pieces offered here. It is by far the finest of only three examples known from Rome with this spectacular bust. All are of Constantine Caesar with the 'ROMAE AETERNAE' reverse, and all are in the Ramskold Collection.
